Greg Kroah-Hartman‘s OLS 2006 Keynote “Myths, Lies, and Truths about the Linux kernel” is definitely worth a read.

I was supposed to be at OLS now, but instead I stayed in Haifa to play “dodge-the-rocket.” Such is life in the middle east.

To all of you OLS-goers, enjoy the conference, and don’t forget to wildly cheer Jon when he gives our Using IOMMUs for Virtualization talk during Wednesday’s opening session!

Rockets are falling in Haifa. It certainly gives a new meaning to “debugging under fire!”

The dollar is sky-rocketing due to the escalation in the north and the stock market is plummeting. Normally I would be in a quivering ball of panic right now, but we bought the house on Sunday, and our money is safely tucked away. Talk about timing!

Pictures of the house (and the wedding) will be forthcoming … eventually.

I’m reviewing a paper at the moment which has the following sentence:

“… is still a single point of failure, because box failures (e.g., cable disconnection, flood, coffee spill) …”

Must – resist – snarky – reviewer – comment – “coffee spill is just a private example of a flood.”
