The slides look interesting but I lost track really fast. They started out in ’99, the tail end of the dot com era and are succeeding (not starving to death). They must be doing something right.
I think that Paul Graham would be pleased to see such a clean affirmation of his mental model of creativity in the computer world.
But you and I both know that the distance between providing what people want and having a product that can stand on two feet is both considerable and wrought with peril.
