- In this case, by putting a subset of public key cryptography for the purpose for which it was meant, succesfully and without hassles (for me).

  - http://www.livejournal.com/manage/emailpost.bml?mode=help has the info and a link to upload your public key. It Just Works for me, using mutt and the signature as a MIME attachment, not inline.
