Sitting on the bleechers of Beit Biram’s[0] athletic field, waiting for the exam in algorithmics to start, I wonder yet again why I didn’t study nearly as much as I could. Will I ever enter an exam room feeling that I’m fully prepared?

Time to go in. Wish me luck, gentle reader!

[three hours later]

Well, that went rather well. The one that needed a reduction to the halting problem was nasty, and I got the co-NP one wrong at first, but then I realized I wasn’t using the right technique to prove that the dual problem is in NP.

Next tasks, calculus midterm in two weeks time, and a whole bunch of homework I’ve been neglecting. Back to the slave grind!

syscalltrack update

Finally found some time[0] today to work on syscalltrack. Worked on the rules module, getting it to compile and link with kernel 2.6. Next up is seeing whether it loads, and then whether it actually runs. If it does, the hard part of the port to 2.6 is done, and everything else is just cleanup work. Once I get home[1], I’ll run it, and then we’ll see.

[0] Ugh, who am I kidding. It’s not time I was missing, it’s inclination. Thankfully, I seem to have found some. [1] I’m in Compilation class now, and afterwards I’ll head for a quicky workout at the gym.

In 24 series 3, CTU is apparently using KDE. Neat!

On that note, I think I’ll go watch 24 now. Cheerios!

[written last night]

0300 AM, and I’m sprawled in the living room, watching Eminem’s 8 Mile movie on DVD, sporadically hitting the keys on hydra the faithful laptop. My kingdom for wireless right now. Being offline, even for a minute, feels disconnected. Maybe I’m just afraid of being alone?

I’ve been fascinated with money and the process by which it is accumulated lately. On Sunday, I opened up a 15 years pension fund (Kupat Gemel) for the tax benefits. Today, I signed up on Analyst Online and created a virtual stock portfolio, for training purposes. I invested 30,000 virtual NIS so far, and intend to put in 70,000 virtual NIS more. Investing is real easy when it’s make believe money and there’s no risk involved. So far, after two hours of trading today, my net worth is up 1.72%. Woot! Unfortunately, I can’t attribute it to anything except dumb luck as I don’t know the first thing about the stock market. Orna lent me a book on the subject today and I expect the situation to be rectified by the start of trading on Sunday.

I’ll use this time to catch up on my blogging (can’t believe I said that) backlog. Watch this space!
